an orthotic is an insole that changes how load passes through your foot, ankle, knee, hip and back. fitted well it takes strain off an irritated structure while you rehabilitate; fitted badly it simply moves the problem somewhere else.
we start with an assessment rather than a scanner: your history, footwear, joint range, muscle strength and how you actually move — walking, and running where that is relevant to you.
from there we recommend either an off-the-shelf orthotic, which suits most people, or a custom device where your foot shape or symptoms need one. orthotics are always issued alongside an exercise programme — the insole buys you comfort, the rehabilitation is what lasts.
